“Emergence” 2024

“Emergence” is an experimental series of portraits  that explore the contrast of light and shadow - the journey from darkness to lightness. The sitters’ gaze elude to stories about how we go through difficult turbulent times which deepens appreciation for joy, calm and peace which is reflected in the natural world.  The sitters found surrounded by foliage, or interacting with the Scottish landscape elude to how living in a racialised body can shape our experiences. This series captures our resilience, times of rest that spark thought and journey of healing found in reconnecting with the land.
